Akila was born and brought up in southern part of India. She graduated in 2003 with bachelor degree in physiotherapy and pursued masters in physiotherapy with specialization in musculoskeletal and sports injury rehabilitation. She worked in India and Malaysia as Clinical Physiotherapist treating wide range of patients from all age group with various musculoskeletal and neurological problems. She served as Team Physiotherapist in many national and international sports events in India and Malaysia. She came to Canada with her husband Dave in 2010 and worked her way up to become a Registered Physical Therapist in Canada. She started her career as a Registered Physiotherapist in Dawson Creek Hospital BC and then moved to Red Deer to work for CBI Health Group for a short period and then started working as acute care Physical Therapist at Red Deer Regional Hospital since 2014. She is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy and Dry Needling. She has two young children Athena and Achilles with whom she wants to spend her leisure time.
Dhivakar @ Dave is Registered Physiotherapist in Canada since 2013. He earned his Bachelor of Physiotherapy from India in 2005 and worked as Physiotherapist in India and Malaysia for 6 years. In Canada, he worked for Northern Health of British Columbia, Alberta Health Services and CBI Health. He is certified in Spinal and Peripheral manipulation, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Functional Dry Needling and Acupuncture. He is one of the few therapists in Alberta that has the privilege to order diagnostic imaging like Ultrasound, XRay and MRI Scan. Dave has more than 13 years of experience as Physical Therapist and is one of the busiest therapists in Red Deer. He likes treating spinal dysfunction, vertigo and concussion related disorders. Dave’s passion for his career and his friendly approach towards his clients will be the first thing you will notice when you meet him. He relocated to and settled in Red Deer with his family in 2013.
